Just a rant video I made about something I am mostly mad about, or something like that.

@jamesisherwood nice gbk u posted on ur channel and lastly first time someone caught the dawg being used sank yew.

I don't know if "the rise of" bit makes sense (seems like this has been going on for quite a while, at least for media), but I agree that it's gay and retarded, and a huge problem. I notice this a lot with shows that are (according to my friends) boring and retarded like Lucky Star, where people just post the shit for assthetics.
09:41 "I care why that is, nor the psychology behind it, all I know is IT'S GAY!" hahaha
I do think this stuff matters, but it's hard to balance knowing that it matters with avoiding being overly pretentious. The main thing is to stop putting on airs and enjoy what you enjoy. If you think that enjoying something is bad, then stop watching it. otherwise, enjoy it without being constantly hyperaware of how it's perceived. like @BestBroGamerShow told me once, "guilty pleasures don't exist"
great editing by the way

LARPing is based if you do it right; it does not inherently have to be inauthentic. You can do research into a topic/hobby and accrue a decent understanding of it even if you lack firsthand experience. The problem is that most of them don't put in the actual effort to harden their LARPs. There are a number of reasons for this, though I think the two most obvious ones are a general lack of gatekeeping and the rise of cringe culture.
For an example of where they lose the plot, the issue with the whole "webcore" zoomer trend is that a lot of them incorrectly assume there was some unified old internet culture. Back in those days everyone had their own space; web cliques, forums, etc. So if one is to truly try to emulate the old internet, you should start by digging through the Internet Archive or looking for still-online older sites that occupy a niche you enjoy.

@ZOMG I perfectly agree, but I tried to avoid the larp mostly because not truly my era but I do admire it. Also thanks for commenting and I hope you enjoyed the video!

im just thinking how fanbases change overtime like in the 2000s nightcore was like anime weeb stuff but since 2023 nightcore has become a neonazi thing because alot of edgy edits on tiktok had nightcore songs in them so it became a meme to comment "aryan classik⚡⚡" on nightcore songs on youtube and people started uploading nightcore songs with cover art being a greek statue or some blond muscular guy. like nightcore changed from an anime thing to a meme among neonazi larpers and i think thats kinda funny how it shifted. kinda like how abunch of black supremacist stuff eventually becomes a meme among neonazis like "we wuz kangs" and yakub

at the end you talked about vidlii. alot of people do use it for nostalgia but for me personally and alot of other zalphas (2007 to 2012 people) we use vidlii because less rules then youtube and more features like DMs and friends and channel customization and all that and also because you can get views as a new channel without having to study the algorithm for years and watch mrbeast podcasts like on youtube. like the idea of vidlii just being a nostalgia site kinda died in 2022 when gore was allowed and neonazis came in for a bit. like nowdays alot of people just use vidlii for actual use as a video site not just because of nostalgia. like vidlii grew as a site to be so much more then just nostalgia. it has its own unique culture and features and stuff thats different from old youtube or any other site.

@SkibidiCoffee I mean I also said vidlii has the framework of older youtube and the reason it works is because ppl actually use the site as a video sharing site and not a larp. Thanks for commenting and hope you enjoyed the video!

I tend not to pay attention to people like this. People want to be cool and fit in and that can manfiest itself annoyingly sometimes and it used to annoy me a lot too because i thought 'they arent enjoying it properly!' or 'they dont like it for the reasons i like it!'. The truth is though, no matter how many people pretend to like the thing you're interested in, they can never take away your bond with it or take away a meaningful discussion you had with soemone on whatever it is youre interested in. the way i see it, nothing else really matters past this point. and if they want to call you strange or weird or whatever it is they say then by all means let them, however you should never let this bring any inner turmoil to you.
as you start paying less attention to people like this i noticed you gradually start becoming less affected by them and this is nice. simply existing in "your own lane" (im not sure if that phrase is right) is calming.

Good video. However, I don't agree with your conclusion 100%. I think it DOES matter to promote authenticity, and it matters a lot, because performativity is a social illness, decadent and corrosive, and it hurts the poser the most, because he'll never be able to truly enjoy anything or make anything real. You say there will always be retards, but it doesn't have to be that way.

@Stroke sorry I just saw all of your comments and just writing this now. I perfectly agree that allowing retards to ruin what we like is dumb and gay. And you're very much right this is more a social media problem but it's still annoying and said social media dwellers do find them selves onto websites like these. But I'm glad to read your take and thanks for watching the video I hope you enjoyed it lolol

@cidoku i do agree with what you say: authenticity should absolutely be promoted as much as possible - but there has always been retards and there will always be retards. sadly, it's a much bigger percentage nowadays.
@septicsarcoma yes, you're right - they finding their way onto sites like this is sadly way too common. luckily, it usually doesn't last long before they get bored and leave (or get underageb& LOL). i think we should absolutely try to instill the spirit of the old internet in the younger users, but some are just beyond saving.
i did enjoy the video! well done.
