latino is cultural just like jewishness or being american or australian not an actual ethnicity or race.
theres white latinos of german and irish descendent in mexico and argentina etc
black latinos of african slave descendent too that all speak spanish and eat the same food.
theres even asian latinos like chinese immigration in cuba and mexico and japanese immigration in brazil and peru.

when people think of latinos they are usually thinking of mestizos. people mixed between european and african and indigenous descent in latin america which is the majority of people there but not every latino is a mestizo
