i never played any demo kiosks in a store. i dont think they even exist in the country im in, like ive never seen a kiosk for a game demo in a store to my memory where i live. idk i visited america for family in february 2024 and i was suprized with just how big many stores are. like there are some stores that specialize in certain things but like walmart or target they have videogames and clothes and electronics and toys next to regular grocery shopping for food instead of how it is here where theres just stores for grocery shopping and stores for games and electronics and others like thats not something ive seen where i live outside of some big malls or big stores in the city but everything stores seem to be the norm in america even in the countryside like the everything stores with sections for everything are pretty much only a city thing or mall thing in japan (i live but im foreigner not japanese) but in america everything stores are in rural and suburban areas too

I had memories of these! PC games however tended to have bonus demos as bonuses for 1 game that let you run a demo of another. Sometimes even DVDs had them.
I am quite a young person (18) from a backwater country so I, sadly, cannot relate to your experiences, despite that I need to say that I have enjoyed this video quite greatly
@PsychicSpectre @PsychicSpectre im +30 years old from a even more backwater country, and the closest thing i had experienced to this was literal arcade places with psones on a line to play games with it during a limited time.

Instead of game kiosks, my vidya childhood was built on renting from Blockbuster. However the most fond memories I had regarding game demos was playing Sonic Heroes in McDonald's of all places.
Also I think the "closest" of that experience that still exists "today" is downloading the random PSP demo you can find floating around Archive.org and playing them on an actual PSP (That is, if you have one). Playing the kiosks for modern systems just isn't the same.

Suggesting to remove the ?si=STRING in your YouTube links in the description, as they are used for tracking data. You don't have to have them and the link won't be as long.

@BunnyAniseed probably because demos are mostly downloadable there is no real answer but kiosks are just too good to eliminate as a child i always beg my dad to go to game stop to just play at the kiosks but now they are rare.
