meeting online is fine as long as you meet up in person and live close enough, but long distance relationships are always doomed. I've had a few decent relationships that started online, but they didn't stay online. 3 months is sage, my internal number is 2 months but close enough

My sister met her husband from Facebook in the early 2010s and they are happily married now with a kid as well so e-dating was a success for them but most people probably not
it may not be successful majority of the time but i think it can work because i found someone online and met them irl and now we have been in a relationship for over a year so it works
