@Izmit Its cuz it spoke to a lot of people for sure. Now more than ever. People are just not nearly as charismatic and socially oriented as they once were in previous generations, and indubitably this is partly to blame on the internet & social media's effects. Another good one I liked was welcome to NHK, I watched that around the same time I found watamote and I really quite liked it. Worth the watch. Back in those times, most weebs were caught up in shit like K-on and other moe trash, but i always had way more engagement with stuff like samurai champloo and cowboy bebop (still do.)
Don't bother with the Watamote Manga, it's just shitty yuri slop. It sucks.

you should get kdenlive. its open source video editor so you can use older updates if a new update is bad unlike most video editors where you have to use the new update nomatter what. but its windows and mac and linux only no mobile port
@KimCrow I've never used either, but after playing with it a bit, I found it pretty easy to understand. Then again, I also grew up using GIMP rather than Photoshop. Only touched Photoshop in high school & never again. Taught me a few things with GIMP though, so that's neat.
@SkibidiCoffee that's true, but DaVinci is also free. I think some stuff is locked behind a paywall, but that's for stuff involving AI or whatnot from what I see, a lot of the stuff I want a video editor to do is available for free with it. But I understand the open source aspect.

@YeOldeFellerNoob Kdenlive is good for FOSS video editor, but I get why some people don't like it.
