I've had a modded PSP 3000 for a few years now and honestly, for the price of these things in 2026 because of the novelty value and replacing the battery, you might as well get the PS Vita.
It has much better specs, much better emulation options, more space, more everything really except it's a console that right now isn't as "nostalgic" I guess.
N64, Arcade cabinets, GBA, SNES, like basically any games from the 2000s to early 2010s runs fine on the Vita but the PSP struggles with 3D.
The PSP is fun and all but I would just bare in mind if you're in that 50-100 dollar range, I would recommend one of those newer but retro looking emulation handhelds. The technology has moved on massively and you can get a HUGE library of games on those. The PSP library is kinda bad from what I'm used to, there's only really 10-20 games that I would even want to play, nevermind games that I would come back to over and over. The best use is you can store 1000 episodes of TV shows.
