The fucked up part is that at the top of my head, the only example I can think of that that isn't anime is Forrest Gump. It's not an ideal example by any means either. I guess there can be more media based off of that premise, but anime has got that shit on lock. I'm assuming you want that kind of storyline outside of anime.
